Befriend-a-Fam

The Process and the Training

HOME  |  BEFRIEND-A-FAM  |  NEEDS  |  RESOURCES

Below is a flow chart on the process of befriending an Afghan refugee family. We are asking people to go through a couple of trainings as a part of the process. Current training schedules listed at right with more to be added later.

ARE YOU CONNECTED TO A FAMILY YET?

If we’ve not connected you yet we will as soon as we can.

NOT YET CONNECTED

Get Trained and Read Up

There are two trainings; Cultural Considerations and Sharing Your Faith with Your Muslim Frieends (times at right). We will connect you with a family as soon as we are able. In the meantime, you may wish to check out Hearts for Sale by Farzana Marie. (Not a Christian book, but helpful insights into Afghan culture.

HAVE BEEN CONNECTED

Love on Your Peeps

As discussed during the trainings, keep in touch with them by text, see them face to face, express the care and empathy of Christ.

Monthly Meeting?

This is still being discussed, but we are considering having a regular meeting to encourage each other and discuss ideas for serving and sharing  our new neighbors.
